Week 9 Fantasy Fill Ins

Many players are starting to go down with major injuries. Last week was no exception as Matt Forte was banged up and Le’Veon Bell and Keenan Allen saw their seasons come to an end. Couple that with bye weeks being in full swing and your season-long fantasy team is probably in need for some fill-ins at this point of the season.

QB’s on Bye

Carson Palmer/Joe Flacco/Matthew Stafford/Brian Hoyer/Russell Wilson/Alex Smith

Fill In Options
Marcus Mariota: Pretty standard logic here. The rookie from Oregon is playing the worst defense against the pass in terms of fantasy numbers, plus the Saints’ offense is currently on a hot streak that will force the Titans to try and keep up
Peyton Manning: I know, I know, he’s been awful. Last week he showed signs of improvement, he just didn’t cash in with any touchdowns. I think he’ll have a good week against his former team, and playing indoors will help tremendously.
Jameis Winston: Like the player drafted after him in the 2015 draft, Winston will benefit from a poor pass defense in week 9. The Giants gave up 7 touchdown passes last week, so you have to think Jameis will cash in a few times.

RB’s on Bye

Marshawn Lynch/Thomas Rawls/Chris Johnson/Andre Ellington/David Johnson/Joique Bell/Ameer Abdullah/Theo Riddick/Justin Forsett/Buck Allen/Alfred Blue/Chris Polk/Charcandrick West

Fill In Options
Jeremy Langford: Langford averaged 3.6 YPC against a stout Minnesota defense after Forte went down. The Chargers have been putrid against the run, so expect Langford to have a big day if Forte can’t go.
DeAngelo Williams: If he isn’t on someone’s team in your league, your league sucks. He was extremely productive when he had to spell Bell earlier in the year. He may not hold up through the season, but for now he’s a solid play.
David Cobb: This is more of a long-term option than a week 9 play. The Titans haven’t been happy with anyone in their backfield and Cobb will be coming off the IR this week. Even thought he’s a fifth round pick, you would have to think the Titans will give him a shot to see what they have.

WR’s on Bye

Calvin Johnson/Golden Tate/Jeremy Maclin/DeAndre Hopkins/Larry Fitzgerald/John Brown/Michael Floyd/Kamar Aiken

Fill In Options
Malcom Floyd: Floyd has performed well over the past few weeks. While he has mostly been reliant on the deep ball, the Bears defense isn’t really keeping deep threats at bay as of late.
Brandon LaFell: Many forget the LaFell had an outstanding season last year. As coaches keep keying the Patriots’ middle of the field threats, expect LaFell’s production to keep increasing.
Robert Woods: Woods has always had talent, he just never got his fair shot. He’ll look to build on last week’s performance against a Miami defense that is showing improvement but still struggling against the pass.
