A couple days ago The Cube and the Mavericks pulled the credentials of two ESPN reporters with no reason given. I figured Cuban and I shared the same thoughts and feelings of hatred towards ESPN, resulting in him pulling credentials out of spite. Great minds usually think alike. Today came the real reason: Mark is waging war on robots.
Here’s what he said to the Associated Press:
“Maybe I will be wrong but I see a direct path from the trends in coverage of games we are seeing over the last couple years to the automation of reporting on games and the curation of related content,” Cuban wrote in an email to the AP. “This isn’t a knock on wire services or their reporters. They are valued and valuable in sports coverage.”
So he’s basically protesting automated coverage of sporting events. Let me say, I couldn’t be further in Mark’s corner on this one. Everyone’s worried about nukes and global warming, but we’re forgetting that we’re literally creating the end of the world. Pretty soon the robots won’t just be taking our jobs, they’ll be managing our households and raising our kids. Have you ever seen a movie where robots run everything and no conflict occurs? I stand behind Mark Cuban in his war against machines. It’s time to do away with technology and go back to doing things in an extremely average fashion. Otherwise, we’re all doomed.
Terminator. Ever heard of it?
