Last night Ken Rosenthal reported that Jason Hammel had agreed to terms with the Kansas City Royals:

The deal is worth $16MM over two years. More importantly, there isn’t a no trade clause which means Hammel will be back pitching for the Cubs by August. He’ll have a very decent run as a starter then Joe Maddon will send him to the bullpen or not even include him on the playoff roster, which seems to happen ever year.
Hammel will try to fill the void left by Yordano Ventura’s death, so it’s not like he has a lot on his plate or anything. Last season he collected a 3.83 ERA and 15 wins with the Cubs but had a troublesome 4.48 FIP and a pedestrian 2.72 K/BB ratio.
