Okay, well I officially believe the A’s may have the worst Opening Day rotation in the league, which means two or three starters I’ve barely heard of will have sub-3 ERA’s for the season.
Sonny Gray has a moderate lat strain and won’t throw for three weeks. Takes him out of Opening Day mix.

You can take baseball players getting caught by the dreaded lat strain to the bank every spring. People forget that the lat muscles make up the majority of your back, and people also forget that back injuries are extremely debilitating.
So does this mean Kendall Graveman starts Opening Day for the A’s? That’s one of the worst sentences I’ve ever heard. Graveman has shown flashes of third starter potential, but throwing him out there on Opening Day doesn’t exactly set the tone for the season.
