This is a stat that means absolutely nothing yet is beyond impressive. Bryce Harper just hit his fifth career Opening Day home run. Mr. Harper is only 24 years old, meaning he’s only slightly more accomplished than me at this point. He’s batting 1.000 on Opening Day in terms of home runs. 5 for 5.

This doesn’t really mean anything, considering Harper could theoretically have five career home runs and he’s been just lucky enough for them to come on Opening Day each time. But we know that he has a couple more dingers than that, so this is just another way to admire Harper for being a stud at the highest level when he was 19 years old.
