Jose Bautista has had a less than awesome start to the season. Not that his team has been doing any better, but Jose hadn’t even hit a dinger until Friday. In 61 at-bats he’s hitting .131 with a .474 OPS, a tad lower than his career .857 OPS. So what’s his deal?
It all changed when Roughned Odor delivered a right cross to Bautista’s face. Hear me out. Since then, Jose hasn’t been the same. In May, June and July of 2016 he failed to crack a .230 batting average for any month. He was injured for a time, but the facts are the facts. Where is the concussion protocol, MLB? Bautista is still clearly suffering from almost being decapitated. Don’t be surprised if Bautista files a lawsuit against the MLB in ten years, claiming he should’ve been taken off the field by spotters. You heard it here first.
